Teeth Whitening

What is bleaching?

Bleaching is a common and popular process used to whiten teeth using  chemicals(peroxide).

Why do teeth need bleaching?

Teeth get discoloured due to various reasons, bleaching is done to whiten such teeth. Discoloration occurs in the enamel and can be caused by medication, coffee, tea and cigarettes & also can be caused by your genetic make-up or simply getting older.

What is the difference between Home bleach & in-office bleach?

Bleaching can be performed by the dentist in the office or under supervision at home. Many patients enjoy bleaching at Dental Office because it is more convenient. Typically, whitening at home takes two or three weeks, depending on the desired shade you wish to achieve. Whitening in the office may call for 45 minute visit to the dentist's office & the results achieved are more pronounced than home bleach method. Prolonging the results achieved by bleaching depends on how meticulously the patient follows the coloured diet restrictions. At SCDOC we make use of latest laser bleaching technology which gives much better results as compared to conventional methods.

ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL BLEACHING:

This mode of treatment has solely been developed to lightening teeth in a simple and comfortable manner. It can bring about a dramatic change in almost everyone‘s smile by a dull smile and yellow teeth to a bright smile with white teeth.

Bleaching of healthy teeth is the safest and most conservative cosmetic treatment available.

  • It generally requires no grinding of your teeth.
  • It does not require any anesthetic and is painless and well tolerated.
  • The time taken for bleaching is relative less considering the number of that can be done at one sitting.
  • The cost of bleaching is less when combined with other cosmetic treatment option to enhance the aesthetic of your teeth.
  • The cost of bleaching is less when compared to other full mouth cosmetic treatment options.
  • Bleaching does not damage your teeth or change the structure of your teeth, nor does it change the shape or form of your teeth.

POST TREATMENT CARE:

Your diet and habits will largely determine how long the bleaching effect will last. With good oral hygiene and a close watch on the exposure of your teeth to external stains from tobacco, beverages, etc., your bleached teeth should maintain their color for a long time. If you choose, regular touch up sessions can be carried out once a year to ensure your teeth look their best.
