Invisalign treatment is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligner that gradually straightens your teeth. No brackets, no wires and no restriction of food.
Invisalign treatment starts with consultation with your Invisalign certified orthodontist. Your orthodontist will evaluate your face and smile and make a customized 3D treatment planning. Using iTero Element scanner, 3D digital scan of your teeth is taken and map out the customized 3D planning for you.
Once the treatment planning is finalized by your orthodontist than aligners are being manufactured by aligner company according to the orthodontist specifications. Aligner fabrication takes upto 3-4 weeks. Once your aligners are there with your orthodontist you will be called for aligner delivery.
On the day of delivery of aligners, first the fit of aligners is checked and than attachments are placed on the specified teeth. What are attachments??-Attachments are nothing but small tooth colored dots that are made out of composite dental resin, the same material used for dental fillings. Depending on purpose and and situations attachments can be of different shapes and sizes.
Aligners fit is checked by orthodontist and patient is given some of the aligners at every visit which patient has to change after every 7-10 days as adviced by your orthodontist. Aligners they move teeth gradually to the desired and planned position according to treatment plan.
Your orthodontist will call you after every 6-8 weeks to check the progress of your treatment and you can collect your next few sets of aligners.
Thus with aligners your routine is uninterrupted-they virtually transparent and easy to remove and you can keep brushing and eating normal.
